Olivier Magaud
Co-founder & CIO
Olivier Magaud is a co-founder of Zerosquare and serves as Chief Investment Officer. He has 25+ years experience in Tech Entrepreneurship and Investments.
Olivier co-founded Zerosquare after co-founding Wavecell, a leading Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) provider in Asia, sold in 2019 to 8×8, a Nasdaq listed Cloud Communications provider based in the United States.
Prior to Wavecell, Olivier was leading sales in South East Asia for Sybase 365, a subsidiary of SAP SE, world’s largest mobile messaging and payments provider. Olivier joined Sybase 365 from Cap Gemini Ernst & Young where he started his career as International Telecom Consultant.
Throughout his career Olivier developed a deep interest for macro finance, quant investment models and portfolio construction. He was also active in private equity investments, most notably as a seed investor in Paidy in 2011 (formerly known as Aqush), a Japan based Frictionless Payment solution acquired by Paypal in 2021.
He earned a Master’s degree in IT and Telecom Engineering from École Supérieure D’ingénieurs En Informatique Et Génie Des Télécommunications (ESIGETEL) in Fontainebleau, France.

Olivier Gerhardt
Co-founder
Olivier Gerhardt is a co-founder of Zerosquare. He is a Tech Entrepreneur / Investor with more than 25 years of experience in Asia Pacific, Europe and the US.
Olivier is the founding CEO of Wavecell, a leading Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) provider in Asia, sold to 8×8 in 2019, a Nasdaq listed Cloud Communications provider, for US$125M, one of the largest tech exit in South East Asia.
In 2019, Olivier founded VL Capital, a privately held investment holding company that specializes in funding and advising B2B tech start-ups and venture capital funds with a focus on SaaS, Fintech, Web3, Blockchain, Climate tech. Most notable investment includes Paidy, a Japan based Frictionless Payment solution which was acquired by Paypal in 2021 for US$2.7B.
Prior to founding Wavecell in 2010, Olivier spent 10 years at Sybase 365, a subsidiary of SAP SE, the world’s largest mobile messaging and payments provider, where he was initially an International Business Development Manager and later the Sales Director, France. Olivier joined Nortel Networks in 1998 as an International Presales Manager.
He holds a Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Telecom Lille in France and completed an International Marketing Programme at INSEAD.
